What to Expect
I specialize in working with young children and utilize play therapy techniques. In my office I have a doll house and sand tray as well as other therapeutic toys. These are used during sessions to provide children opportunity to express themselves using their own language - play.
I also have experience in supporting adults and families who are healing from trauma and assisting foster and adoptive families. I utilize a trauma informed and attachment based approach.
Depending on needs of your family and child and your child’s age, I may recommend individual therapy sessions or family therapy. As a parent or caregiver, you know your child better than anyone else and your involvement in their care is vital. Your involvement may look different depending on the recommendations made.
Services provided include EMDR, individual therapy, family therapy or Child Parent Psychotherapy.
your first visit
Your first visit will be focused on getting to know each other and gathering information about your concern and the impact it may be having. Together we will explore your individual and social history to get a wide picture of your concerns. We will work together to develop a client specific treatment plan and I’ll make recommendations about frequency of sessions.
