My name is Neseriani (Nesi) Larsen. I graduated from Aurora University in Illinois in 2008 with an MSW (Masters in Social Work). I have experience using play-based therapy through my work with early intervention and treatment for autism spectrum disorder and children with disabilities in Minnesota and Illinois. I incorporate the CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) framework as well as integrative health practices such as mindfulness techniques and yoga. I am currently working towards a trauma-informed yoga certification. Since living in Iowa, I also became EMDR(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained and Theraplay trained. I work with children, teens, and adults experiencing a wide-range of life adjustments and circumstances. I tend to be strengths-based, focusing on resiliencies, and am collaborative in my approach with clients.
In my free time, I enjoy moseying around the garden, smelling flowers, learning new things, connecting with family and friends, and finding local natural treasures. That is in the summer. In the winter, I enjoy practicing mindfulness shoveling snow. I have a spouse, daughter, and two cats named Kristabelle (Krista) and Catherine (Cat).
